Zap's or LP's are good choices. Same with old PPI's or Orion. My old skool amps of choice are Alpines and that's what I'm going to be using.

lol, I still have two pair of OZ-130 5.25" midrange new in boxes. Never seen power.

horny! loves dem green chicklets. Alpine should do a limited edition head unit designed to resemble the 7909 or 7390 tape deck, but with optical, ai net, usb, ipod, and 24 bit dacs...minus the amp, cross overs, and eq...and put the 6 chicklets on the right side!! sweet

One thing I always wondered about old school . . . Why didn't they have power terminals on them? I think all of the old-school amps I encountered had the power wire, ground wire and remote wire built right into them - just like the above pick of the Linear Power . . . that wasn't just LP, I remember Alpine, and Kenwood doing the same . . . and a few years ago I saw an old school High-end amp like that too - It was either a McIntosh or a Nakamichi . . . I can't remember which though.

none of this gear is as old as BigRedGuy, he probably remembers reading about all these peices prior to them even hitting the market.
