I still wait for the track change even when listening to a CD. Much of the music I listened to as a teen, I listen to now. Some songs by Trooper or Supertramp I actually cringe waiting for the 'thump" in the middle of the song.

Hey that's what got me all started in car audio...the old man's 77 LTD2 busted the 8 track sometime around 1983, he dropped into Kromer Radio on Bathurst St. in T.O. and got hooked up with a deck and two. That would be a JVC tape deck and 2 6x9 Alpine co-axials in the rear...I was hooked!

What ever happened to team 8 track? That guy who wanted to set SPL records with an 8 track player as his source unit?

If you can find an Autotek....you will get it way cheaper than the Hifonics version.

I remember Rodek from back in the day as being pretty inefficient, but physically-large amps. Great heaters but relatively moderate in their power output. I recall an amp test that they rated last in the bunch for efficiency. Doesn't mean they aren't reliable though.

Yep as Dukk said I'm using 2 3545 (250x2, Alpine's big black beast) and 3 3539 (150x2, class A/B and about the size of Alpine's current PDX amps that produce the same power yet are 20 years newer?) amps. The 3539s are kinda like Alpines 'BBQ' amps. So tastefully styled. I love them so much that I have 3 more of the 60x2 version (3525) and a 40x2 version (3523) sitting in a closet waiting a decision on what I want to do with them lol

Here's a pic of one of my '45s and two of my '39s along with my 6012 sub (also about 20 years old).

Here's a page showing some of my old skool gear.
