Impala Radio problem
Hey everyone,
I've been having a problem with my radio lately where at times the radio will work perfectly fine, then for several days when I turn the car on there is no power to the head unit at all. Generally, a few days later it will work again for another week before going out again. I've checked the fuses and they all appear to be fine, and even got a hold of an aftermarket radio to try out as I thought maybe the head unit was going bad but I'm having the same problem with the new radio. Maybe there's a short somewhere in the internal wiring? I've done a lot of looking online but haven't seen a lot of helpful info to help with diagnosing this problem.
When the car was at the garage, I asked them to take a look at it and they said the head unit was receiving power, so it seems like the problem lies in the radio or the wiring of the aftermarket radio.
Chevy Impala 2006, about 150,000 miles.
Thanks for any help on this!

Did you check your ground wire connection? Also, try tapping into another power source for a few days, to see if the vehicle radio power wire is the source. (Make sure it is switched, or you will drain your battery if you forget to cut your radio off.)
