can I wire 2 amps to 1 dvc 15" sub
 

I have 2 zpa 0.5's and I am looking for a sub woofer configuration I would like to use 1 sub so I can save some space in my trunk and I was wondering if I can wire 2 amps to one sub either one amp to each voice coil or run the amps series to a series dvc. I was thinking a mtx 9500 dvc 15" as they are rated for 2000k that would max out the subs and amps any help or info would be great sub suggestions would be awsome for maximum spl for one sub ......thanks in advance

if the amp is strappable you can strap them, then hook it up to your sub, or like you mentioned you can hook each amp up to each voice coil, just make sure the gains are set correctly

You CAN wire two amps to one sub, but it is usually considered to be a bad idea because no matter what, no two amps will make exactly the same power and behave the same.

IMO, you might be better off selling or trading your amps for a single amp that would suit your goals better, or running two smaller subs.

u are a bit off there bro. all u need to do for two amps to produce the same power and behave the same is to level match them with a multemeter.

and yes u can wire two amps to a dual coil sub.

Yuli is correct, you can match the amps with a MMC running a constant tone track and then level them out. Also mono the input signal to both amps so both are seeing the same signal.

Ok, you CAN level match them at volume 20, but what happens at higher or lower volumes?

I didn't say it would shred his sub, I just said that no two amps will deliver their power the same.

Going even more in depth, some people claim that it doesn't matter at all and the coils will combine their force even if one only gets 200 watts while the other gets 500, others say that you shouldn't do it...

u can level match at volume 20 and it will be same at any volume. and yes, i've tried it.
