can i wire 3 dual 4ohm subs down to almost 1 ohm?
i want to hook up 3 of the older idq's to my sundown saz2000d. but it only does 1000 watts at 2 ohms and i read that you can get .6 or 2.6 ohms when you wire 3 dual 4ohm subs together.
can anyone show me how to wire these subs for the lowest impedance? im pretty sure the saz can take .5ohm well |
thats only 6 ohm or 2.6, how would i get to .6 or .7
If these are single coil the lowested u could get is 1.34 ohms, wired in parallel.
All coils wired in parallel is 0.66 ohms.
.66 is a SERIOUS load, even for a quiality amp like a Sundown.
Make sure you have the electrical to back that up, or it will surely fry the amp and some of the elec. components of your truck. That said, .66 is the minimum impedance, and you have some box rise to take into account which will help. |
so does anyone have a wiring diagram on how to do this
Wire all the positives together, and all the negatives together. Simple as that. And then plug the sum of the positives into the positive on the amp, and the sum of the negatives, to the negative.

thank you
