Can someone tell me what I sould do?

Hi, I am new to this site. I have a 1998 toyota tercel I want to upgrade the sound a bit, but because of my work I need the trunk space and can't have the sub there anymore. The car has factory holes for 4" in the door and 6.5" in the rear deck.

Can someone tell me is this would be ok for decent bass and overall sound?
Im not looking for anything loud, just good low end at med volume.

1.
Soundproof the rear deck and instal 2-6.5" kicker free air subs.

2.
I already have 2 new kenwood KFC-P402 speakers (4") I was going to put into the front doors.

3.
This is the part I am not sure of. I have a pioneer GM-X374 (35x4 rms, 400W max) amp, and also a Kenwood KAC7201 800w max 2ch amp.
Do I need both amps or could I get by using the pioneer only?

Hope it's not too confusing to read, I would just like to make sure it would sound alright and apperciate anyone's adivce.

Thanks!

Is 6.5 the largest you can mount free air in the rear deck lid? Are you willing to do a little modifying? I had an '89 grand prix with a pair of old school 8" Orion XTR's mounted in the back deck lid. Still ran subs, but they made solid low/midbass. I know a guy that used JL 12IB subs in an old trans-am. That thing slammed.

I would like to just use the 6.5" holes in the back, soundproof the rear deck as well. I already have the kenwood speakers in the front.
The front speakers are rated for 8-50w RMS, while the kicker's are rated from 50-150w RMS. Will my single pioneer amp be enough (35x4 RMS) for all four, or should I use that for the front speakers and use my kenwood 150w x2 RMS for the rear speakers?
I know they are not really big speakers and am just looking for decent sound without loosing any trunk space (I have it full of tools for my work).
thanks again for the help, I don't really have much experience with this kind of stuff.

Is it possible to build a couple small boxes for those kickers. Mount them underneath the deck lid. Dampen the lid. You should get much better performance from them with the box and it will take up barely any room at all under the deck lid.

Yeah I should be able to do that, there is a bar running across that may get in the way though. What would you recommend I use for amp's?

I would use the kenwood for the subs

well if the subs are made for IB(free air), then the box would severely restrict their performance as they're designed to use the trunk volume as the "box". As for the amp, easy way to find out...hook it up. It should deliver reasonable sound levels, but you won't know until you try it. Worse case, you have to add the kenwood to the picture.

they are rated for a sealed box. Another option is the JL 6w3v3. Pricier but much better SQ.

with were the bar is there any way you could use the bar for support maybe? and possibly attach the boxes to the bar to prevent rattleing of the rear deck?

i would do the same.. that way your powering the subs efficiently and they'll pounder and with them in enclosures the subs will pound harder and lower

OK..just looked them up. I would try them free air first and see if they do the job for you...if not then look into boxes. You'd be surprised how good free air can sound, if it's installed properly. Make sure you really seal off the trunk as best you can using expanding foam, sound deadener, etc...the better the seal the better the free air results.
