Canadian Auto Radio??

Does anyone know what ever happened to Canadian Auto Radio? They were a fairly large installer/dealer back in the late 80's early 90's. They did some good work back in the day and were featured on several Canadian network television news segments over the years.

Thanks

JJ

Talking Re CAR

I remember them ,
I think they were on Steeles Ave. Holly Mungal was the owner winner of IASCA atleast once.
I don't think they are around anymore, not many shops from that timeframe are still in business.
I might even have a t-shirt or their business card somewhere.
Oh the days of real car audio have come and gone.
Don't get me wrong today's car audio has it's place but it will never be like the 80's to mid 90's.
I hope this helped.

Yes, that was the place. Holly did some really neat work back then. I recall a Monte Carlo with 4 ,12" subs and frount end running off of a single RF Punch 45!!?!?!?!?!! It pounded really well but the front-end was not that great. I could not get over the single Punch 45.

You are correct, those days will never return. Today we have high-tech and better SQ in my opinion. Back then it was simply a showing of brute force with fair SQ. If you had the big $$$, you could get decent SQ. Today EXCELLENT SQ could be had for under $2000 (Alping 5.1 Channel AMP, Alpine 9861 DVD-Audio HU, DLS components (front) and ID coax rears. Add an 8" or 10" sub if you want the extra hit. This was not at all possible in the 80's and 90's.

Thanks

JJ
