cap size and possible ground problems.

So. I have a 600w 4 ch and a 600w 2 ch for my subs. Just wondering what size power cap would work? A 1 fared cap is up to 1000w so would I then use something bigger?

And
I'm positive I have a ground issue. It's what I've been told alt wine. So I'm hoping that Thursday my bursts gunna help me do the "big 3" and make sure the amp ground is better. Does everyone think that should fix it? Or does someone think there's something else goin on?

from my experience, the big 3 will help a good deal, it did for me.

why do you want a cap?

I want a cap... well... for extra. my lights dim, all the lights dim even my deck dims when the volumes up lol. and yeah. just figured it should add more to everything... which it does, does it not.

Upgrade the wiring first.....it will make more of a difference than the cap....:smokin:

I've upgraded the wording, other than the big 3 unless that's what you ment. And. My power cable is running on the opposite side of the car as the others.

cap doesn't help much at all. Get a kinetik 800 in the back or something similar. Its a agm battery.

I wasn't looking at spending a fortune on a secondary power scorce.

Like how much, you could get the battery for under $200. Big 3 is 3 large gauge wires like 0gauge. Alt to positive battery teminal, negative to chassis, neg to engine block. That makes a big difference.

Your kind of poo pooing recommendations, do you have a solution you would prefer? I think you just want to add a cap, so do it and lets hope the cash outlay has some value because you need to know the actual source of the problem to fix a problem. I would prefer to find the problem and fix it rather than to spend money and not fix it

80% of the ground issues are power issues and well over half are caused by poor connections or inadequate wiring. So go in to the system loosen every connection and CLEAN each one from the battery through the amp and ground points, then carefully re-tighten each one. We are talking 'big 3' which is good advice most of the time but we dont know what size wiring you currently have, how it is connected or anything else.

When did the ground start? did you change something? is it there with the signal (RCA) removed?

Haz Anga 04-13-2010 07:14 AM

I have 4g power wireing and good quality stuff. The wine started when I installed the 4 ch amp. Hence where the high pitched wineing is coming from.
And what's the difference between a cap and kinetik 800?
All of the connections are clean. Lol the only one that's not good is the ground. And that's getting fixed maybe tonight or Thursday along with the big 3. So I'm hoping that fixes everything for the most part. Welding a bolt to the body of car in. Back as well as front for ground.
