Which car?

I'm thinking of selling my 01 Alero 4-door auto with 155km that I bought for 4-$5000 in 2007 for a mint 02 Neon 4-door auto with 100km for $2000. My dad is saying that Neons are crap, yet I had a Sunfire ($4000) before the Alero. I need the money but is that just a bad trade off?

I have had my car since new and with 262,000km on my 04 SX2.0 (Neon) and it has had:
- 8 tires
- 2 sets of front brake pads and one pair of rotors
- 4 spark plugs

...and that's it. I did replace the coil and plug wires at 130,000km with MSD but that was just a little dressup and it cost under a hundy.

I really should replace the plugs again but I would say that's a pretty low maintenance car.

The Alero has one of the poorest crash test ratings. It looks good though. I mean I don't want to make $2000 and then have $2000 in repairs in the next year.

Just keep your current car. If it runs good than your good to go, you know its characteristics and what not.

Getting a different car ... your going to have to get it safety, e-tested, fix what ever needs to be fixed. Fix what ever is worn. etc. Getting the car to how you want it. All cost $$ , just keep your current car.

Alero over Neon.

Have a look at the Saturn Ion. Fairly cheap and very reliable....5 star crash rating as well
