car audio batteries
hey guys
i know theres a lot of different batteries out there and some are better then others, just curious as to which is best or better or what you recommend? ive looked at stingers, kinetik, optimas, and i still cant under stand which is better to buy there all about the same price but does the name brand differ the battery performance? im kind of a noob when it comes to secondary batteries so yeah lol whats ur recommendations? i have 4 alpine type R's soon to be in proper air space just wanna see whats in the making... thanks mike |
If you're adding multiple batteries they should be the same. Definantly the same material (gel cell, good old wet/flooded ect..) and I would say same brand, but if the type is the same it should be fine. Optima is a good choice, with their gel cell batteries, but tend to be expensive compared to others. Another battery company is braille
You didn't say how much power you're going to feed those subs, but I assume its at least their rated max (2000wrms) I would also suggest a High output alternator, unless your doing competitions and the car has to be off. |
kinetik sucks. everything else is pretty alright.
|
agreed kinetic is overpriced and not even half as good as other companys like northstar xs power and oddysy
|
I've been running kinetik's for a while now and they havent let me down yet.. although they are expensive.
Not to hijack, but would it make a difference if combining 2 kinetik batteries with an XS power battery? (All used as storage in the trunk) |
would make a differance but honestly to get the most out of those batts youd need all the same batts , its really a preffurance tho if your happy with those batts thats great nothing taken away from kinetic they make a good batt , but theres more affordable batts out there for less money , if you were wanting to do 3 batts id do a 2700 or 3100 under the hood and have your kinetics in the back would be a great upgrade , would be cheaper as well to go that route other then buying the biggest kinetic

also looking at alternators but to use full potential of alternator you need storage room for it no? as well by having the same battery, do i need the same battery under the hood as in the trunk? mike |
what kinda stereo is this just daily /bass race / demos ? its nice to have all the same batterys but atleast have the same in the back upfront isnt a have to but you want a fair size battery up front to draw off the alt , i deal with mechman alts they make a good product
whats the goal with this setup ? |

whats the goal with this setup ? i hope that makes sense. u want a batt that has the lowest internal resistance u can find. they are all different from manufacturer to manufacturer. i just changed to oddysey myself. they are great multi purpose batts. not very many agm batts can pull off being used as a starter. btw oddysey (or parent company)are the ones who invented the optima and sold the tech when they reinvented it to become what is now the oddysey good luch |
