P.S. correct me if im wrong, was it Terry Brocks who did no-wall with his rex and st.C box? kept shredding the surrounds off the subs and burnt coils easy with around 15k on 4x12". Put up a nice score though!!

Caps are the best , thats why they make them !

12" sub, dude that's stupid all you need is 300 rms and a 10" or you'll lose your hearing

0 gauge is overkill. <-- righhttttt

I've read over some of the items listed, some are ignorant, some are just funny and some are pure curiousity.

Cap's work...the real ones, not those new digital ones that look like amps and are 10-25 farads. Simple think of Caps like very efficient Batteries. When called upon the juice and going to come from the Cap, then the battery....all the while the Amp's regulator kicks in trying the keep the voltage up. If you have crazy current draw, already have the Cap's to help maybe a 2nd battery or a slightly upgraded alt will do good.

Ex: I've had an $80 Cap in my 600rms system for almost 10 years and it does work. hardly dimming lights. It's not louder in the sense it'll be loud than what the amp/speakers will produce during that first thump....it just keeps it at the volume of that first thump. Helped a newer friend wire mine up since I'm currently not using it....and he played a few songs so see if his lights dimmed (running a 500rms Kenwood D-class) and was completely flabbergasted that on the low bass hits...he actually had headlights period...LOL. Another friend of his handed him a 20 sheet physics print out of how Caps don't do anything. I couldn't wait to see his response...lol

Big 3 works. It lowers the resistance of current through the car. Upgrade any headlight harness and you have brighter lights. Voltage drop from the Alt/battery/amp is less with sufficient gauge size. Your Amp will thank you too. It also helps everything else in the car...for example, if you're engine is modded. Upgrading will help with spark, etc. It can be 1-2whp on a dyno, on a 300whp pull.

Fact some old gear is in fact better than newer gear. I run PPI, A/B. I just read the Damping factor article, and also like to add that I've heard it also depends on slew rate as well. I know from experience that my music sounds tighter, and more clear with running higher damping factor amps (and I mean real EDF values). Lots of the kids just see lights and sounds with today's equipment. There's truth to the saying...it's what's under the hood that counts.

It's the same thing when people try to argue what's better quality CD's or LP's (Vinyl Records... for those that don't know). CD's can be at 320 bit rate or higher, but LP's are a direct recording from a physical pickup and transferred directly onto the medium (meaning the vinyl). Play them with all analogue equipment (old school) and you'll get the most true playback to the original artists playing as possible short of being there in the studio. Some argue well after 320 bit the human ear and mind can't distinguish the difference...well we're organic...so what happens if some portions of the sounds that we hear falls between the 320 bits. That's why many will tell you it feel warm, more full.... It's because you are hearing everything.

Now...anyone every run Tube amps?

Matt... can you do me a favour, since you seem to know what you're talking about, can you tell me how quickly a 1 farad cap will discharge?

Sorry, when I originally updated my profile, I was looking at the general and saw Doc, since I love those movies and am a little older to even know about the movies I picked it. I had no idea all of those were members avatars. No worries, I grabbed an image of an IDMAX 12V3, since it's what I have. (I wanted to pick this or even PPI but there weren't any of those brands to pick from in the car audio avatar section).
