car stereos with gps
 

hey everyone(newbie),i have kinda fallen out of the loop for a couple of years (house,familly,...)i used to do car stereo and alarm installs out of the driveway at my parents house (the stress free days)lol.anyways in my area pretty much the majority of my neibours have gotten their house broken into including myself while renovating (alarms in now).now to my question,if i get a deck with a gps if it gets stolen can we recover it or at least press charges ,or does it just not work like that,i am looking at some pioneers.any info would be nice.thanks.

I understand what you mean but I dont think its available on the market. Head units with built it nav are just receivers, not transmitters...It's a great idea though...

That is a Great Idea thought, Because those things are expensive.
I want to get a GPS to but they are getting Stolen alot now a days

GPS's can be tracked down, you can get the exact location of it if it does get stolen (kinda the whole idea with a GPS, so you know where you are). You just need to phone whoever makes the GPS and they should be able to track it down (you may need to jump through some hoops first).

I think would be a great idea. The only thing I can think of that is along the same idea is Eclipses ESN protection. If your Nav unit or ESN headunit gets stolen in the first year of ownership you will receive a new unit free of charge. All they require is a police repor and have record of the unit being register at time of install with the security feature engaged.
