Actually, I think 128kb/s was boarderline.. so you may hear a slight diff if you are listening on headphones or have a real nice system with low noise floor..

For most applications it wont make an audible diff.. IMO...
every has the right to there own oppinion

a song on a regural cd is about 50-60mb and when you compress it to 128kb/s you end up with a file about 3 mb (1/16th of the origional) your gonna lose some sq somewhere in there

I think CD transparency comes encoding at ~200kbps VBR using high quality setting in LAME.
lame encouder are very high quality thats what i use

it is very easy to do. go into the file where all your mp3's are stored and make a new folder call it what ever you want.drag and drop all the mp3's you want in that folder.
then when you go to make a cd drag and drop the new folder onto the easy cd creator like you would if you were doing a single mp3 song

realize if you only drop in folders and burn the cd when you put it into the cd player out will end up with an empty folder. i cant ecplain it very well but you will see when you burn a disk

i hope this helps

I'm an other and from what my ears hear, they can certainly tell the difference between a 128kb/s and a 320kb/s ripped cd.

Install Nero, or cd creator, both mentioned already, and you'll be all set Kid.

i dont know why you get one called playlist.there is probly some setting to chage this in your burning software
when you went to burn your cd you probly just added folders right?if you just drop in some mp3's they will show up in the empty folder

This is very true. If you have lots of space, rips original cd's if you get your hands on them inot wav files. They are much bigger nut if you are burning them onto cd's anyway then you don't need to worry about the space because you can delete it after you have burned. If space is a problem and you want to keep the files ripping at the best quality (windows media player best is 320). An average cd takes about 550mb at 320. Most people will not notice the difference between many different sample rates but the more you train your ear the more you will notice.

I also find a difference between the qualities even on my computer 320 sounds better than 128 and I have crappy speakers.

Also, the burn depth is very important.

A longer/deeper burn will sound much better than one that takes half a second to burn.

This is why a lot of the older cd decks are finicky when it comes to CD-R's, the burn isn't deep enough so it won't even read the information on the disk.

BTW, for those that don't know CD's do not have music on them...they have 1's and 0's that the D/A converter decodes into analog signal...digital signal cannot be heard. Just FYI.

If you like lossless audio try Monkey's Audio codec...

It will take an 80minute CD down to ~350MB.
