CDA9833 VS CDA9831

Is it worth ponying up the dough for the 33? I like the idea of being able to use the onboard crossovers, what are the xovers like on the 31? I know theyre fully configurable on the 33.
Also, is four channel time correction (31) enough for a set of componets (not running active) and a subwoofer?
Are there other feature differences between the two that im forgetting about?
Please help me out.
Thanks.

Hey Mike, I ran a 7894 a few years ago, I believe it had the same crossover options as the 9831, 80/120/160 for the HP and LP. Not enough flexibility, IMO. I am running the 9835 which has the same x-over section as the 9833, and it is awesome. So much more control and flexibility, I find. I would have picked up the 9833, but they were out of stock so I went with the 35, I would go for the 9833 if I were you. Good luck!

Alright, so really the only things I would be gaining over my current Excellon deck is 4 channel time correction and 4v preouts with the 9831...Vdrive doesnt really matter as I probably wouldnt be using it (unless ofcourse the vdrive crossovers and preout ones are independent and i could run tweets off the deck???)
I guess I should just save up for the 9833 or pick one up used when next years models come out.
Thanks everyone.

Well nothing really, I just like to change it up once in a while... besides mine lacks time correction and only 2v preouts and the x-overs suck... not to mention I happen to like the feature on the alpines that you can scroll through mp3s without going through every song.
Its only the Excellon X-569, not one of the very high end ones.

there is nothing wrong with the excelon, im sure, but is doesnt offer some of the flexibility that the 9833 or 35 has. if he doesnt plan on using the extra benefit of the alpine decks, he likely should save his $$$ and keep the excelon, they are great decks
