cdt hd-6 mids "bottoming out"

ok, i have a problem in my car when i crank my stereo the right cdt hd 6.5" seems to "Bottom Out" while the left has never had this happen, i do have the balance set to right 2, however i still dont think that this should be happening because i have never heard it on the left no matter how loud i go. do you think it could be something wrong with the driver? or possibly it isnt sealed right? i have a layer of sound deadner stuck on the cutout ring of the baffle to help seal it.. any suggestions? the set is getting 180watts rms from my ra2400, which is the rec power for the set...

raise your crossover point a little untill it stops . :smilie_da

could be the install or settings... its also common to have alot of varience in compliance between two seemly identical drivers.... so IMO there is a good chance that your left is being put near it's limits when its cranked up, while the right is being exceeded...

since you fade left and the right gets more power I would swap the speakers and hope the problem goes away...... otherwise reduce power or raise the xover point as suggested....
