CHEAP RCA Cables worth replacing

Uhh.. originally when I first installed the wires in my car, before I learned what and what not to do from many of you, I used some really cheap radioshack RCA cables. I don't remember what brand they were but the pirce was under $14 lol. Do you guys recommend getting some higher end RCA cables? Currently the SQ seems great to me but wondering if there would be any noticible difference with better cables. If I have to rewire those cables I will...

Thanks...

You answered your own question, but read here and make up your own mind.

Its a pretty hotly contested topic, but in many double blind tests, the audiphiles could not tell the difference between $1000.00 cables and Lamp Cord. :dunno:

Thanks for the link and info. As you may be aware I still have some upgrades on the car to do... a bigger alt and I need a new battery as well. I'm getting distortion/clipping & light dimming even after the big 3 upgrade (I know the subs/amp can put out much more) so I was just curious if the RCA's played any part in it. Basically just eliminating possible smaller issues along the way.

I think once you finish other more important upgrades, then worry about it.

But as far as cables go, the best advice I know is run them down different sides of the car. Keep the power wire on one side, and run the RCA's down the other. Then if you do encounter noise, you've at least eliminated that possibility off the bat.

I'd probably do the Batt first. If the plates are weak, old, the alt will strain to charge it, then add your system on top of that....cheaper too :)

Cheers

John

Ya the RCA cables are on opposite side of the power & remote wire. Guess the hunt is on for a battery then. One right now is over 6yrs old... eeks! Appreciate the help once again John.
