One of the cheapest and safest ways to ship is to take your parcels to Greyhound Buslines. You can drop it off at any of the bus terminals and they will put it on the next bus going in the intended direction. Much cheaper than standard carrier and faster too.

It also doesn't get thrown around like the mail. My contact has sent glass mirrors and other breakables this way without any special packaging with no problems.

When the parcel arrives in the intended destination they will take it off the bus and call the recipient to come pick it up at the terminal.

Hope this saves some time and aggrivation for some.

Personally, and at work, we try to use Greyhound Courier as often as possible. As long as it is below their weight limit anyway. They are always inexpensive and fast.

a few summers ago a buddy of mine went out to BC for a while - he got his bike sent out there by grey hound ... thought it was kinda odd but apently it was the cheapest way

I worked at a greyhound stop. The shipping is OK if it's on the route for your bus and in your zone. Cheap and fast. But i would never send much farther. All the transfers are worse then most companies. Often the mail is fine. I bought some things off ebay lately and when shipped on the same day, 2 items, both from small cities in the southern states, one on ups, one in airmail, and air mail gets here first. For less then half the price. Air mail rocks, but not for heavy stuff.
