Cheapo subs in Lambo's??????

I just watched that car show recorded at Unique Auto. The guys did two custom jobs installing a JL 500/1 and a 10W0 in Lamborghini's. What the heck are they doing putting entry level subs in cars like that??? I'm sure the owners could have coughed up a few extra pennies for better subs. Maybe JL (obviously a sponsor) asked them to do this?

PS - I am not knocking the 10W0 - I just can't imagine putting one in a car like that when I could definately afford better.

very nice amp so if the bass isn't enough, they need to change the sub, w6v2 or w7 series

I saw those episods also, but i think the reason they went with those subs, was due to lack of depth in the box.

which subs would you have preferred?

keep in mind that:

a) they may not value the audio very much
b) they may not want to add much excess weight
c) they may not want very much bass

if that's what the client is happy with, that's what the client is happy with.

Box size may have been a reason, however you can get away with a small enclosure in the W6V2 series; however, during the show they would scan past crate loads of JL stuff and it looks like they have about 20 more W0's to install, so I think it is mostly a promotinoal thing by JL, or Unique Audio is giving customers free installs for the purpose of the show and is saving cash.

Either way, I would pay for a higher quality sub. Speaking of which, I'm going to go listen to my Diamond TDX 12 right now!!
