The gain is not a volume control knob.... it should be set to match the decks output and left alone. My guess is that you have the gain too high, and that "loud" is a severely clipped signal... :dunno:
its sounds really good even with the gain at just under full with this new deck, before it was sounding really bad is because the presets suck and also it was sending to much bass to my stock speakers, I turned my sub right off then adjusted my setting to make my stock speaker sound good then I adjust the gain and sub levels till it sounded really good.
