Choice between SSA DCON 10" and JL W3 10"

I've nailed it down to these 2 subs and would like other peoples opinion. If I go with the W3 should I get the pre-made box from JL? or have a local shop build it for me, and I guess vise-versa for the DCON.

go with the dcon... it can take more power than its rated for (it'll take 500rms daily) and i've heard nothing but good things about it

JL AUDIO hands down. not just your hands, everyone's hands.

JL W3v3 will also take 500rms all day long. I personally like the JL sound. Use to run 2-12W3v2's that sounded great on the JL 1000.1. :dunno: it's up to you. I would go with a custom box no matter what sub you choose. :smilie_da

Spend an extra $100 and go with a sub which will command respect - Icon. Dcon and JLW3 - nah.

question - what exactly is a "low level impact"? I googled it but found no answer.

from the sound of it, it's when you get kicked in the nuts - low level impact.

LMAO .... funny how a "low level impact" can yield an audible high pitched noise.... :dunno: lol

IF this is true, I've gotta hear a Dcon.

I was really shocked with the SQ that comes from the Dcon
it's very simular to the Icon...same sick low end extension
and very smooth detailed note transition
