Clarion CX609

I'm looking to upgrade my stock deck and have a budget of about $400. I'm looking for opinions on the clarion cx609. If someone has a better option on a similar deck please let me know. It's only going to power stock speakers on a toyota matrix but i would like to upgrade audio in the new year.

Would you consider a used unit in the same price range? I have a double din Alpine IVA-w205 at that price that I need to move. Upgrade to a 6.5" touchscreen dvd player. It is in perfect condition.

BTW bluetooth and iphone compatibility are important

Do you want double din or a darn good cd player then?

i was looking for a double din headunit. BT and iphone compatible. DVD is nice but not a dealbreaker as it wont be used much

I am not a Alpine dealer but work hand in hand with one. They are already closed for the day and will get back to me in the morning on a price for you. Pretty sure I have the ipod cable here in stock already (new). As far as Bluetooth goes it is looking like you would need to add the Blackbird GPS system to it and there is no way in hell that I am going to sell you a POS as big as the Blackbird is. So that effectively eliminates this unit for you.

Pioneer has a good unit in the FHP800BT but it is a little more expensive. Eclipse offers a single din unit that will outperform all of the models we have talked about thus far. It offers up a superior bluetooth interface to all others and includes a separate mic for it. USB is standard on it right now. It carries a 3 year warrranty, 1 year replacement if it is stolen in the first year when installed by a authorized dealer. My shipment arrived today (like 5 days early....no complaints), two are headed to Ontario in the next couple of days. If you are after a headunit that is going to allow you to build a system with, this is the way to go for sure. The nice little area under the cd player can easily be filled in with a storage pocket that is a great place for the ipod or USB device to go.
