I got this amp installed in my car because my Kicker KX 400.1 Died So the dealer was nice enough to put this one in i paid a 250 difference. Im pushing 2 Kaption Spl 1200 (Brand new ones not even on their site) They do about 600 rms 1500 peak but i heard one of them with a JL 1000/1 and that sold me. Anyways is this amp any good? I was checking out www.pasmag.com and some competition cars are running the same amp but to me Clarion has always been a Deck company.

I've just recently installed a dpx1001.2 into my system running 2 kicker comps (only 150 rms rated!?) and it sounds good. However, it's too soon to rant about them as I'll require some playing and tweaking time. BUT, make a note that JL amps are really nice pieces of kit, therefore, it'll be hard for the clarion to match JL stuff. But if it helps, a couple of local dealers love them and say they're a good bang for the buck. Usually, you'll pay about $1 a watt or more for the good amps; the dpx1001.2 can be had for less than $500 and will do 1000 watts at 2ohms mono (or 2 x 500 watts stereo)...it's supposed to anyway. I'm only running my subs at 4ohms mono, but i'm happy (SQL aimed). Good luck and let me know how things turn out...

Hi im back with some preliminary results, This clarion is clean but it doesnt hit hard for some reason , im thinking that its not enough power for the subs. The other problem is that Celicas are built like garbage. Everything rattle (HaHa!)
I think im going to have to do something about that first though..
