The ARC class D amps will work perfectly for you. I ran class D full range and won the Canadian and world title in IASCA this past year. With that said, I would still say a good AB amp will give you better sound (not by much) which is why I'm switching to the ARC Audio SE amps.

Ok so some of the CLass D amps are still pricey, so it seems that the only difference is that class D amps are generally smaller. The price advantage isn't always there.
So I'm still a little torn. I'm leaning towards the JL or Arc class D amps vs a Focal solid2 or a Zapco ST2.

Look into the zedaudio kronos.
It's a pretty sweet 2 channel class D.

they are also MUCH more efficient, and put out more power for the dollar and size.

the Zed Kronos is a beast of a two channel. should be able to get one shipped around $350 brand new.

i have no idea if they are still there, but Fozzz was selling his JL HD amps recently in the classifieds.

I had ruled out Zed Audio because of price but $350 seems in the ball park of other amps. How do you get one into Canada for $350? The Kronos is listed at $430 on their website.
I read the entire PDF on them and they seem to well thought out amps.

personally i would go class D for mono not for full range but then again depends on the quality and exactly what you are looking for.

just my 2 cents

Well thanks to everyone for the input. It seems fate stepped in and made my decision for me.
I happened to be in Burlington today working and decided to check out this car audio shop. As luck would have it they had a brand new display model Focal Solid 2 on sale for $250. Never hooked up or run they just used it open box on the table to display the product. I figured $250 was a real good deal.
The guy in there told me JL has a new 2 channel for the XD line coming out.
Probably going to be called something like the XD 200/2 retailing for about $350 but he wasn't sure when it would arrive so I jumped on this one.
SO my parts are complete.
