Essentially, we are in a very exciting time - a major technology shift.
When CDs first came out people argued their viability against the LP (and still do). When solid state amps came out people argued their viability against tube amps (and still do). Now we are at the forefront of real world ClassD etc full range amps and people are arguing their viability against A/B amps (and probably will for some time).
Reality is, nobody is sinking real R&D dollars into A/B amps anymore, it's all being put into the new topologies. It's awesome
