hey guys new to the site but not new to audio. In the past ive only ran a 2 channel amp with my subs ive had in the past. But i currently upgraded to a mono 2 ohm capable alpine amp and have two jl audio svc 4 ohm subs. However the wiring diagram for this configuration

does it have to be wired exactly like this? Does the negative and positive from one side need to go to the other then from there to the amp? Right now i have both negatives and positives going from the terminals on the box to the negative and positive terminal on the amp but they are ran seperate to the amp. Would this be the same as the diagram above? Would it still be a 2 ohm load.
