Well Craig Butler was just saying he already spent more than that on his Astro Van.
Not to mention the 40ft trailer and the GMC topkick he uses for towing it.
It weights 20000+ lbs, the enclosure has more than $30.000 worth of resin, there is no concrete, but resin and sand.
But the pioneer truck has much more on it...

Discarding trailers and towing truck - SQ cars also have those requirement too. We call them Trailer queens.
They probably are probably close but IMHO an SQ car costs more in labor and fabrication.

Depends on many factors. If the focus is only on the install and electronics.

wait a sec! we are talking extreme SQ and SPL here.
I think if we go back to an amateur (average joe) like 150db car vs a SQ 200+ point in IASCA SQC1, the SQ car will need more expensive equipments. In term of labor yes SPL is a lot of trial and error, but it's the same thing for SQ.
But one thing is sure, in SQ or SPL whatever the amount of money you put in if you don't know wtf you're doing you wont get good results.
Now going back to what car for SQ, i would say that the goal would be to have a car where you can aim the speaker directly at you, the L and R side as far as possible from each other and where the distance of the listener from the L and the R is almost the same. It's a car so there will always be some constraint and you will have to do some sacrifice.

If you wanted to buy a car today to be able to do either SQ or SPL then I would buy a CRX. You can be a world finalist in either discipline with that car. Truly you probably can with a handful of cars but the CRX isn't hard to work on and returns good results.

Actually, "Black Betty" took 7.5 years to complete ( over 11,000 hours ) & over $250,000.00
