component set

Hi all,

I know this is going to be a subjective question but I am going to ask anyway. I have some leads on some component sets and I am trying to get some outside opinions. I am going to list them in order of my first impression based on frequency response. I know there is more to it then that but to me the more range would be better (maybe someone will tell me otherwise). I do know that it depends on construction , materials, etc. I guess I am looking for just a simple answer.

1. MB quart
2. Diamond Audio (I don't know anything about this brand)
3. JL Audio
4. Focal (everyone swears by these but the specs may be influencing this).

I am just asking based on brand recognition. I know depends on the models, etc.

I just finished installing MB Quart RCE-216 in my doors and i'm quite happy with them. They're on a clearance sale since they got bought out and have a newer model now.

Yup, the MB Quarts are a very respectable speaker, I have only a couple of pairs left of them.

Focal......... for sure.

But its pretty much up to the installer to make any speakers shine.

I agree totally. A good installer can make a speaker come to life. A poor installer can make amazing speakers sound like crud.

I run the Hex series in both of my vehicles (with TDX sub to boot). Absolutely love'em. I have not auditioned Focal or MB Quart in a vehicle yet, but I once ran a set of JL VR series 6.5 coaxials that sounded VERY smooth.
