Which component set would you choose?
I'm going to install kick panels in the front of my car with no rear fill. Was thinking 6.5 components maybe Boston Acoustics/Focal or maybe MB Quarts... They need to be loud but I would also like them clean. Any suggestions?

There is lots to choose from. Your budget will help determine what you go with. I would look into the companies you mentioned, but also include Hybrid Audio. Good product and great technical service.

Budget is $400 - $1000.

CDT, DLS (I have DLS and like them).
If Boston, get these and let me know what they sound like please :) Boston Acoustics SPZ60 |
Im leaning towards those instead of the MB's. Whish DLS do you have?
|
Anything for $1000 will sound great. The only diff is that diff speakers will have their own sonic signature.
|
Agreed. In a perfect world I would like to find quality sounding speakers for less than $1000 dollars, but who wouldn't. The reality is that I will have to make a decision shortly (by Spring) on components without hearing them first. :(

You have to decide whether you want a bright sounding set or mellow.
|
The MB Quart are going to be bright. If you are after a set that in my opinion is going to offer more for tonal balance, then consider Morel and start looking at the Dotech Ovation 6 or models above.
Morel ® Loudspeakers This is probably another line that you have not heard of. The lines that I generally recommend are solid performers in the industry and not the internet brand of the month. I will recommend the items that I know work with a highly predictable outcome for the user. Do it once, do it right. |

Pretty much the low end of the middle range. I like them a lot, 150 WRms as well. Pretty nice mid bass to tell you the truth. Sasha has probably purchased /listened to/ has in his closet/ more sets of compononets than Rob (The vendor with yellow user name) has in stock. I'm joking of course, but only a little. John |
