Component Speaker Advice

I am finally looking at getting my first set of comp speakers lol. Anyways, I got 5.25 openings in my dash, and I'm looking to optimize those unless anyone has a fairly easy remedy to get some 6.5's in my 94 caravan. My budget is 300 for a set. I was looking at the pg xenons because I can get a new pair under 200, and have heard decent things. However, I need a fair bit of midbass since I'm running the gear in my sig, and the xenons are said to be lacking. A couple other options might be alpine type r or x's, or some cdt's. I'm not too set on anything, just want a fairly laid back tweet with as much midbass as possible. Any opinions?

getting sufficient midbass out of a 5 will be harder than a 6 ... I would suggest a 5 with a high power handling and high motor force. The DLS UR5's come to mind ... 3" voicecoil and neo motor.

The new Clarion SS500's are pretty nice from what I have seen and heard. Price point is under $300 and thats alot of bang for the buck.

Interesting. I have heard a lot of good about DLS speakers, got a link to that set? Also would like to see the clarions too, link me up with those as well if possible.

New Clarion speakers. The crossovers look identical to some Diamond Audio units I've seen before.....Hmmmm....

If you're considering CDT's, I find they're fairly clean and calm in tweeter sound (silk anyway) and quite decent in the midbass dept. However, they require a fair amt. of power to make them sound like they can (which is nice if you ask me). BUT, the proper install will make all the difference (quite literally), ie., deadening, more deadening and so forth. You seem to be on the right track though. Cheers.

I've heard a lot of good things about the cdt ef series and has always been an interest for as long as I can remember for me. I have only heard about the 6.5's, do they come in 5.25's? If so, is there a dealer I can contact in Canada?

Still looking for a cdt dealer. Can anyone hook me up?
