Im not sure if your kidding, but a CPU PS puts out about 5-7amps and you need about 120amps

i was hoping it was higher

a CPU supply will put out 8 amps on average (or maybe that's the old ones)
I have 3 old cpu power supplies running together producing roughly 25amps for testing purposes . . . . so if you get 15 old CPU power supplies, you'll have the power you need. Also I've noticed that running audio equipment off of them introduces a constant low rumble. I'm guessing that's a result of them coming off a 60 hz wall plug. |
Modern ones put out about 20A per 12v line. (per rail not 20A on every 12 lead)
so you can get upwards of 40A out of decent 500W psu's I'm not sure what you can get out on the new 1kW psu's on the market now. I have an older 250w that has I think 10A on the 12v, I used it to run a JVC deck, 2 amps pushing 1 12" and 2 8ohm 2-way floor speakers. Decent living room volume but not much more. Look into dedicated 12V PSU's. |
