Dc audio xl 15
I'm looking for a sub that can take up to 2200 watts rms @ 4ohms. The amp I have is a crown jbl bpx 2200.1. The birth sheet says it pushes 2550 rms @ 4ohms. I was looking at the Dc audio xl 15 but I'm not sure if I should get two 15s or just one. I was also looking at the dc audio level 5 15 but I'm not sure what to go with? I want it to be loud and I plan on having the sub in a ported box. Any help thanks?

an XL will generally be better on music than a Lvl 5 imo. You simply need a dual 2 ohm woofer.
The size of the woofer will depend on how much space you have. If you have lots of space you may do better with a pair of LVL 3 15s in dual 1 or dual 4. Whereas if you're hardup for space you could always run a single XL 12. But there are many many other woofers that will handle that power. DD 9500, DD 9900, Fi, Sundown, IA, etc |
My friend has a xl15 on a sundown saz2000 and it gets loud and sounds good

Speaking from experience, the LVL 4, the XL and the LVL 5 are all great subs. You also have a nice amp. Personally would do the XL. Sounds as good as the LVL 4 but louder. Level 5 is hard to say. When I had it, my power supply wasn't the best so don't wanna comment on it's performance as it wouldn't be fair. Was completely disappointed with anything below the LVL4.

Also a terrific upgrade to the level 4s thats well worth the money is to order them with level 5 coils which will get them really wangin. |
