DD 8 inch sub + Sony xlode 800w amp

Hey guys, i have a question about the sub i got for my birthday.

SUB: Digital Designs Audio DDLE308 8" Loaded Enclosure

AMP: Sony xplode xm 1252gtr

I will put it in tomorrow, but i just wanna know will I be able to listen rap/hip hop songs ( i heard rap and hip hop is low frequency) so will i be able to hit the low bass good? Like the bass thats like one long hit, lol i dont really know anything about subs so im just looking for some information...

Thank you

It looks like you should be pretty happy with the gear you have. The enclosure DD usually recommends is tuned pretty low so it will work well for the music you like.

Let us know how it turns out!

Yes and no.

It's a subwoofer, it reproduces the frequencies you're looking for.
But you're dealing with a 250watt sub (correct?) and a 8" at that ...
Just don't expect earth shattering bass ... for the first time, you will hit and hear these notes, you'll be hearing things your stock system has been skipping over completely.

idk whats wrong, its not hitting at all, the red wire runs from the battery to the amp, the black wire just from the amp to the car body, is that why?

Do you have a remote turn-on wire going from your head-unit to the amplifier? Probably a stupid question - but since you didn't mention this wire, perhaps its not the amp is being turned on.
It could be that your head-unit has to have the Subwoofer output turned on.

You should upload some pics of what you have going on, wiring wise. That'll be the best way to get the help you need.
