I had my RFX 8320 for a couple of years, it sounded great and never gave me any trouble. I would go for it, if his deck is in decent shape. :D

I guess it depends on whether you want a change in your dash and whether you want/need the extra features. The Fosgate is a decent deck and with the added feature of a remote, and a sub level adjust, you will also I believe be getting higher preout voltage and more rca outs.

From what I understand, Rockford uses Sony to manufacture their decks. I heard an 8350 at moderate volume and was surprised, considering it ran deck power only. It's a clean looking deck with decent features. 4 sets of pre-outs was outstanding, too.

Delco used to manufacture RF decks, atleast according to the local RF dealer(maybe they still manufacture them??). I always thought RF decks were ok, but the local shop was never impressed with the pricing on them...thought they were VERY expensive for what you got. Hell, their top of the line, 2003 deck MAPs for US$900. It is an 8 volt deck with mp3, but my god, $900???(and suggested retail is $1000...ridiculous). Ok, rant over.

The 8350 I saw was selling on SoundDomain for 200 bucks US. I guess they're clearing stock.
Made by Delco? lol interesting, they make good batteries and alternators, but it's hearsay on my part saying the decks were made by Sony.

That's a first. Never heard of that one before. Lasers deteriorate? With neglect maybe, and over a span of many years. Mechanical parts would likely fail first.

the laser doesn't deteriorate but the mechanical tracking system that runs the laser back and forth wears out and the laser goes out of alignment and no longer reads cd's properly

had it happen to a home cd player I had, but it was 10 + years old and had played 1000's of cd's

I may not be doing any deals here soon...except maybe on a new cylinder head for my 2.0L.....

Put the A/C belt on this morning to get all up and running...missed a pulley or something....munched the belt.....and there is this hole in the timing cover that has been there for years..anyway....went to start the thing up to hit the wreckers....waaaaa.......waaaaaa.........BANG!..wa wawawawawawawawawa....I'm pretty sure I jumped the timing belt and maybe even smacked a valve or two.....we will see I guess......Right at this point,I maybe out of bussiness for while....depends on how bad the damage is....anyone interested in buying a sound system?lol

I'll keep ya'll posted.....
