the death of sundown audio NS v1 15inch subs

So today was a fun day! I kill both of my NS v1 15inch subs by plugging them into a wall socket! (good times) and i took some video's!

at any rate it took each sub like 5 minutes plus on a wall socket 120volts at 1ohm (d2 subs) so about 14.4kw of power (via ohms law)

and yes i did this b/c i am getting them reconed to 12inch subs! so with out further a-do here are some short video's! these buts were tanks!!! i am going to miss them and they will be reborn as 12's lol!!

slight correction to your ohms law... but if you ran it on a 120volt wall outlet how did you not manage to blow the circuit breaker? max draw on a 15A outlet is 1800 watts... so unless you had something like a 120amp breaker installed( highly doubt it) it would have blown after just a few seconds

makes me curious..as personally I have not done the wall outlet thing wired to 1 ohm

Sad to see such a beautiful sub put to bed, oh well them new version of the nightshades are bad asssssss

good luck with your re-cone kenny

CrazyKenKid 08-21-2010 09:08 PM

thanks a lot sundown_604

and yes i i screwed up on how much power was going into it maybe around 1700 ish...

and yes i have a 20amp breaker so most my socket could output is 20amps at 120volts.

ya sorry i jsut used ohm law and said 120volts with 1ohm! lol
