Hey, my buddy has a Kenwood CD deck, about 4 years old, KDC-8011. It has front and rear preouts, his subs have been pulsing all the time, almost like a heartbeat through them, tonight we pulled out the deck, I tried new RCA's off the sub output, still happened, tried swapping the front and rear outputs, the front speakers then made the same "thud-thud-thud" noise. That leads me to believe that the problem is with the RCA's out of the deck, anyone recommend a place in Vancouver area to fix this, or know of a solution? I have dealt with IT Electronics before, at Kingsway and Imperial, any other place you can recommend? Thanks!

The deck is 4 years old and he wants to pay to get it fixed? Why not just drop 300 bones on a new deck with a nice warranty? Rather then fix a 4 year old deck and risk having something else go wrong with it in the near future?!

You do have a point, I will check with him, for sure. But it could turn out to be a $40 repair that gets him another couple years out of the deck which is actually pretty decent.

I hear ya. If the price is right I say go for it. But if they want like more than 75 bucks, I'd just put that toward a new deck!

Agreed, like this one: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...d=&newdeptid=9

Pretty decent price, although the RF site says dual preouts, and the FS one says triple.....

welli would check yoru amps. cause if yoru front speakers didnt do it untill you pluged the front rca on yoru deck into your sub amp then you might have a short on teh amp. thats makign your decks preouts become grounded. i ahd teh same problem with my system and it ended up being the crossover i had.

if you're interested in that deck it does have triple pre-outs and an 80hz crossover. not many bells and whistles but the sound quality is awesome. get an estimate on the other one, but like was said earlier if it's anymore than $75 than scrap it.

Thanks guys, I had the 8320 RF deck, and I really like it. Redzone, I should probably check the amp for sure, I will have to do that. Thanks.

Actually, Redzone, when I tried running the front preouts to the sub amp, the noise went away, so I am pretty sure that it is the deck that is the problem.
