hey just got a new deck (my first) the wiring is realy screwing with me the display wont turn on and it ownt play but the face plate will move and eject the cd (granted you only need the battery wire hooked up for it) what did i do wrong im pretty confident that the speaker wires are all done right. the only thing im not sure on is the ground (black on black)

its a 88 pontiac lemans if that helps

What deck is it?
My first thought would be that Clarion uses 2 contstant power wires on there decks t=with motorized face plates.

 

isn't it just matching the same colour wires from the harness?

Yellow wire from deck=constant
red wire =iginition
black=ground

make sure these 3 wires are hooked up properly.

 

i forgot to route the battery wire problem solved... sort of the car is of no use to me now gunna pull the auido system out of it again today thanks for the help though
