we installed a pioneer double din AVHP6800DVD unit NOT THE DEHP today and for some reason it keeps coming up with an error message that says it is illegal to view a dvd in the front seats. if anybody out there could help out with this that would be great it was in a 2006 ford f350.

thats cuz it is. most .. well factory ones need you to be in park, but you can use the gps.... which to me is an oxy moron lol.its either stare down at the movie, or stare down to find your street lol

you have to hook the lt.green wire fromt he AVH-P to the lt.green/red wire at the trucks parkbrake switch

to be legal you have to hook it the negative sid of the park brake but it will work if you hook that ight green wire to a swtich and hook it to ground it needs to be on a switch tho cuz you need to cycle it or else it will just come up with that same screen.

i should have been a little bit more specific this was when it was in park and the e brake engaged i am wondering if there is a break sequence that needs to be done in order for it to work

Killer_klown187 09-22-2006 08:59 AM

most times not, but I know My alpine needed to be e brake on, and tap the brake like two time and hold then open my dvd player and then it would trip it,

nothing like that will work unless you can override the gyro thats inside!
