diff. between "midrange" and "midbass"

hey, just kind of curious.. is there a difference between midrange and midbass? if you were to say that you have a component set and part of the set is a 6.5" "mid"... what is this classified as, a midrange speaker or a midbass speaker.. or are they the same?
just something i was curious about. always refered to my mids as "mids" without actually knowing the difference. thanks!

ok cool. yeah i was just reading up on the manual for my components (Rockford Fanatic X's from the 2000 product line) and the freq response says 50Hz - 5kHz, i assume that is in the perfect conditions though. i wouldnt expect my mids to actually play at 50Hz. was just curious what to call these 6.5" "mids". just plain old midranges, lol.
thanks for the reply

calling those mids is right. A midbass is used just for midbass and usually pounds more compared to a mid/midbass speaker. I find using a midbass up front along with mid/tweet(3way) to be much more satisfying than just a 2 way system. If you try a 3 way system you'll love it!
