dilemma with alpine type R svc

i got a great deal on this alpine type R SWR-1240 sub (300 rms,1000w max, 4 ohm svc).
although my amp can only deliver 150 watts 4 ohm, and 300 watts 2 ohm.

i need a new one, but i want a much higher rms on this one. although until i can find another type r, i want to just run one of them with a new amp.

what rms ratings should i be looking for? as i will be using this amp for when i find another one too.

My guess something that does between 250-350 rms @ 4 ohms and can run about 600 in 2 ohms
