we here at trends do not require and ra when you send in service items. does other dist out there require you to phone in for and ra when you send back items for service?

Korbon did when I used to deal directly with them.

Alpine/Pioneer/JVC/Clarion all got repaired at PM Radio and they did not use an RA system.

ra's suck, they waste time and half the time when you call for one the person who issues them isnt there, drives me nuts, and wastes time, panasonic, concept, automobility(the absolute worst company to deal with for warranty, sorry westec, not your fault),staub(compustar), they all require ra's, pat, i hope you arent thinking about changing, are you?

Meh, I could care less about an RA# or not. I agree with you, Dave, that it is a total waste of time for the most part and the worst offender is Automobility (sorry Westec), send it here, here or here and wait this many days for a ra# to be faxed back to you. No problems with other companies and their support with or without RA#'s.

We require the receipt, to verify date. 99% of all items are not even seen by myself it all goes to Liquid Audio for faster fixing. If somethings fishy we are informed and we make inquiries about it.

bing bang boom done.

i send back items to the usa and ra's are a good way to keep track of items in for service. I am researching ways to make service better. we dont use ra's and do not think that we will use them but i am seeing what you think might make a better service repair flow smoothly. at the end of july i am gonna make a report for my bosses about what i think are steps that we can do to process repairs more quickly.

pato

i hate ra's.

99 times out of ten (haha I kill me) the problem is that the shops that the equipment is dropped off at just don't send the equipment in in a timely fashion.

ouch...
