Do you break in your subs?

If so, how do you do it? free air? music? sine wave? 10 hz? 20hz

do tell:)

I do with mine. I use a 30hz tone for a good 20 min+ with the subs moving no more than an inch or so.

Then I spend several days beatin on them at moderate levels. After that it's balls to the wall!

i break in all my subs using a sealed box.with basic music for a week.then do some excursions with a bassrace cd.then they go into the ported boxes.

i found this to work very well.:smokin:

i heard you were supposed to do this, a year after i bought my sub. when i got it was brand new in a ported box and as soon as i put it in my van i turned it up like it was going out of style, and in april will be about 2.5 years i've had it and its still running strong, sooo i really don't know if it works, but when my friends get new ones i tell them to break them in, or i borrow it for a week and do it for them

Forget what all these posers are talking about. First things first, get a hammer and a chisel and then you start banging....:smokin:

If it was such a problem, wouldn't every major manu. have it described in their manual?

Tip 20: Please listen to your sub at moderate levels for 20 hours before excessive use ... this will break in your subs accordingly.

:hah:

Sadly, it's something I half believe ...
