If you look at the set up, I don't think SQ is really in the mix, seems more about output.

If you're looking for greater output, If you can make it work, I would suggest putting both sets up front and then you have the ability to balance plus the added output.

If you go to a concert, the band is infront of you, not behind so most everyone I know including myself don't see the point of "rear fill" unless you're doing 5.1 surround sound.

Wouldn't that introduce some serious phase issues?

you will get more output and actually use your amp to it's potential. That's why i decided to use 2ohm components in my system (infinity kappa), it went from loud to louder because i had twice the power going to the speakers, and much better bass/midbass transient response...more power=more control over the drivers. I did not notice a drop in sq, so from now on I'll be using 2 ohm drivers when possible. I know Image Dynamics, Infinity, and JBL offer them now...hope many more companys do the same in the future. Remember, most stereo amps offer twice the power at half the impedance...that means you don't need to buy that really expensive 100x2 amp@4 ohms, when you can get the same results with a 50x2 @ 4ohm=100x2 @ 2 ohm amp.

Another thing to keep in mind is that running at 2 ohms is often the limit of what an amp is capable of, and the longer you run on that limit, the more likely you are to experience failure.

some times less is better

more power on less speakers is better then less power on more speakers

good lord people... did you all miss this part of his post?

He's not going to lose stereo output... he only drew 1/2 of the setup... meaning, he'll have 4 sets total. 2 on each channel. He just wanted to make sure his wiring was ok to get the channels down to 2Ohms, and to make sure that it wouldn't cause problems for the amp to be down that low.

When you lower the impedance you are making the amplifier work harder so you will get more power (as long as it's designed to handle it) but in doing so you also lower the dampening factor which will affect the SQ. Just something else to consider.

I was just trying to suggest a better way of getting some better quality out of the set up. going this route he only has balance or fade.
