Does Dynamat really work?
 

hey, I was thinking of putting in dynamat in my 4 doors this summer. Does it really work? I have it in my trunk and its not that bad...it doesn't do the greatest but its alright. Give me some feedback!

Yes, it does.

I prefer Hushmat over Dynamat by far, it's a lot nicer to work with and has better results. Closed cell foam will really kill road noise if that's what you're looking for. Searching will result in tons of threads about how to apply for best results.

Yes it does work well for me. Two layers in the front doors in my Accord and the midrange just smooths nicely. Mid-bass improves too. The truck dynamat doesn't seem to work very well but it did bring out more bass tight bass I can hear it.

all depends on what you want it to do. it didnt work for me at all.

well @ 150db's is there much notice at all of any other noise other then LOUD? lol... For daily driving, I noticed very very little in my rear, but when I did my floors, and the roof, I noticed my road noise went down a big chunk, I plan on adding another layer in my trunk soon as I have worn most of it down from changing out my sub box.

Has anyone heard of Reflectix? It's sold at Home Depot, the guy who is installing my system recommends it, it's what he has in his Corvette:

He initially used it to reduce the heat in the car from his headers, but found it really deadens the sound amazingly well.

I don't need to use it on my roof anyhow, as my Corvette has the removable glass roof.

I don't really want to tear my entire interior all apart, so I was figuring on only using it in the rear hatch area.

To be totally honest though, I'm not even sure if I need any sound deadening at all. The road noise in my car is not that bad. GM puts a pretty decent amount of sound deadening in the Corvette from the factory. And most of my trip to and from work each day is stuck inching along in slow traffic on the 401 anyhow, so in a case like that there is no road noise anyhow.
