I am (for now) going to upgrade just the speakers on my door in my Chev -S10.

I have narrowed my search to either the Focals 165 V2 and the Boston Pro 6.5's.

Both sound very good (to me). And I can get either for about $400 Canadian.

Will my Pioneer HU (I think it's the DEH-4400) have enough power to make these speakers sound decent? (As I don't plan to buy an amp right away, perhaps in 6 months)

thanks

It should be ok...but I'd try to get a cheap amp instead...I'd try to even pick up even a Pyramid amp for dirt cheap (should not cost much at all....) and use that until you could afford something more suited towards the focals.

No way.
I owned Boston Pro components and they require TONS of power to sound good. I now own Focal components and, although less power hungry, you won't get good results with deck power.

no it wont the insertion loss on the xovers alone will cause you to lose power from the deck, get an amplifier

Survey SAYS! No DICE!

It would sound bad and you would be disappointed in you fine new speakers. For $50 or so you can get a nice 25-50x2 amp off Ebay from a decent brand and enjoy the speakers WAY more
