Dual 10" ported box.. questions
I just picked up a pair of really nice band new Sony Xplod's :P!
XS-L104P5B's never been used, still in the box.. buddy has no use for them now that he has an S10 ;) Sweeeeeet deal for me. lol So I was wondering.. what kind of enclosure should i put these in? I calculated some stuff, and a proper band-pass box puts me up in to the 9-11 cubic foot range.. and that's way to big. lol So I was leaning towards some ported designs.. definitely not a sealed box. I do not like they sound at all frankly. I was thinking, do I make one box but have two seperate enclosures and port for each sub? or have them share the enclosure and have two ports in the box? Also! what amp should I use for these? they are gonna be weak with my 340 Jensen powering them.. I need a new amp! What do you suggest? |
What car is it going in?
What music do you listen to? As for the amp, you're going to want something that does between 500rms - 800rms @ 2 ohms |
It is going in a 1981 Jetta. fairly big trunk, all metal surfaces.
I listen to classic rock probably %60 of the time.. but the other %40 is stuff that needs to pound. 2 ohms? will that work if they are 4ohm subs? |
If you can EMT or paypal me $5 I'll have an indepth enclosure deisgn for you.
