Dynamat Alternative

I know most people are aware of the peel n seel and quick roof alternatives to dynamat. Just wanted to give another. Purchased at Rona, it's called "resiston" Ashpalt based, aluminum backing, peel n seal. Goes on very well, quite tacky, pliable and no smell (35 above today).

12,5cm x 10m = $26
20cm x 10m = $36

I did my entire roof plus the entire lid of my truck with one roll.

I have heard of a different product, some claim it is better than Dynamat and the prices are very good. Take a look.

You did your ceiling with a roofing product? oy..

If there is one place to bend over and pick up a high performance product, it is the ceiling.

Hopefully you don't have problems. :ohwell:

Right you are DUKK. I can say for rattles it definitely does the trick. Roof used to rattle like crazy and now all is well. As far as the adhesion well u have to assume something that is meant to go on as a water seal roof fix should be good for whatever weather your car is capable of throwing at you. As for sound deadener, well even lining your car with two layers of this stuff still is far cheaper than dynamat and other brands.

This is likely re branded peel and seal and as far as I know has been used extensively by people wanting dynamat without wanting to spend dynamat money.

i fully admit that dynamat is way overpriced. but in my opinion, these products are still quite inferior.

all of these roofing-materials being used as deadener are just a cheap fix that just don't quite cut it.
i've installed some of these roofing materials, b-quiet, dynamat xtreme, and damplifier pro in cars and the only two i would ever put in my own car are dynamat and second skin products. b-quiet is good for the money if you are on a budget. dynamat can be had quite cheap on ebay if you look long enough.

whatever happened to 'brown bread' ??

jstoner22 07-18-2009 12:21 PM

didn't brown bread get replaced by b-quiet? i think they are the same company

Meh... I don't know... a few years ago I put some Peel n Seal on my trunk lid and I NEVER had an issue with it.

It didn't stink, it never fell off... it just stuck and STAYED. I'd use it again if I were in a financial pinch.

This was also in my daily driver so it saw temperatures from -40 to +40 (and god knows what the temps were IN the car)....
