"dynamat door install-take 2"(pictures)

I finally noticed the improvement i was looking for. As stated earlier i planned on installing some left over dynamat "behind" the door speaker's magnet in the "inner" door shell, and in the door ribs as a cca member suggested. This gave the results i had hoped for. Stronger midbass!

As a side note. The pheonix gold rsd component mid and tweet sets are one of the best values around. I have the rsd 6 up front and the rsd 5 in the rear side doors. I have owned rockford fosgate, cerwin vega, jbl, kicker and alpine component speakers in the past, and none could match these pg's in sound quality and overall performance. PG claims increased excursion capabilities for the woofers and i totally agree! I have them hooked up to a jl audio amp running full range, and the amount of cone movement(bass) without distortion is impressive.

............the hole below the speaker must be kept open to allow for the door cover to fit back in place. The door bottoms have storage compartments that unfortunately recess into the door shell cavity. The car is a 98 ford contour v6, that comes stock with a 130 amp high ouput alternator, in which i am taking full advantage of.

well done!
you can pocket some dynamat over the hole with no effect to the door shell from what i can tell in the pics.
take a sheet and allow it to go into the hole in the middle then fill in the ends.. viola filled hole with pocket to receive the door skin, and waaayyy better bass response..

oh forgot to mention that if you are worried about the window touching the dynamat and getting stuck. simply add a piece of dynamat back to back with the first sheet before you add it and nothing will stick to the back end..

........Actually this has crossed my mind. I will try it when i can spare the funds to pick up some more dynamat. There should not be any window clearance problems from what i can see. I will post the results and picture when it is done.Thanks.
