I had two SW8200's sealed/1.25 each/350W each in a sunfire trunk, I also tried 750W on one in a ported (35hz) box. Couldn't believe how low the sealed box got it was fairly subsonic and made the change in the holder bounce (but not at 30+hz), but the ported was louder within a 10hz range, and couldn't drop below 30 for shizzle. I'd use 3 SW12's sealed with 2000W, 1.5 each, no fill. They don't distort with that, although I really don't know how much power mine was seeing, it was 1500 @ 1, 750 @ 2. None of those were better than my 05 XXX 12 though .

Again.... im using 500/1 jl and only one sub,,... ether JL 12w6v2 or SW8000(10") or SW8200(12") if i can get it.... i am still looking into Kappa perfect 12 vq- but so far i think 600W is too much for it....

500W to one 12"? Get the W6 and port it. Try to find one for $200 so you feel better about not buying the SW. It's discontinued anyways.

ok... this is gonna get messy now- I sincerely apologize for that but I just came across a 15" HDC315... rated at 1kW in a sealed enclosure going for $200.... first anyone knows if 500/1 can pull that off? and will it suite my application? 60Hz and below?

What's the ohm of the woofer? You might be able to wire the 500/1 to .5 ohms to power that sub. Those amps are beefy and might produce actual power better than something with 1000W on it. Try a 1000/1. Those subs I think are $240, what's the box look like? Sounds like a good deal if the sub is in good condition.

That amp is only rated down to a 1.5ohm load.....running it at .5 would lead to some problems sooner or later.....

If you need more power better to sell the 500/1 and get something different....

Yeah I will never go below 2 with this amp- beside is better to run it at 4ohm- damping factor is higher this way... I found two SW8200- for $225 for both,... Im working on getting them shipped :].... I will probably use only one- maybe experiment with running two lol....
