Eclipse 88120.4 tuning Help Please
#1
OK, these are the specs I got from the web VAS 4.25 cu feet, QTS .35hz,FS 22HZ, I entered them into some program LSDP? I got it from the termpro site. Anyway I put in the the specs as it asked, then gave me the following:
Vas 4.25
FS:22.00Hz
Vb: 3.13 cu feet
F3: 24.87Hz
Fb:23.77Hz
Max Ref Efficency: 0.53%
app ref efficency: 0.34%
Ripple 0.11db
Vent Length: 16.35"
What does "ripple" or "max ref efficency" or "App ref efficency"???
Now I used that WinIsd pro program which gave me the port diameter, which I have no clue what to do?? But that's what the LSDP.EXe program gave me? Can someone help me out here and let me know if I am doing this right? This is a first time I have tried to make a venter/ported whatever you want to call it box.... How does this tell me what size of box to make? which cu feet do I go buy? and how to I know it's tuned properly?
If you can help me out that would be great!!
Thanks Guys!
Thanks that's all the website gives me....

the 88120.4 is optimized in a sealed box, a .9 cubic ft gross, sealed box will sound great and give you great power handling, now if you desire a hienous sounding box that will go loud you can vent it at 2.4 cubic ft gross, will net to just over 2 cubic ft, with 3 4" ports 12.2" long, or 1 port 6"x8"x15" long, hope this helps, good luck, btw, the tuning frequency of the vented box is 55hz with an f3 around 45, hope you have a subsonic filter and steep crossover slope

Thanks , I have been in contact with MR2NR and he suggested sealed box 1.25 cu feet... I have always been a fan of sealed just cause the "kick" it can give off, was never a fan of BOOMY bass but thought I would try something new, but I will leave it as always a nice sealed box.!
Thanks for the response Defro13 greatly appreciated as well!

Yeah, i was look at sealed enclosure on the winisd , and I forget the size I had but gave me a q of like .707 or something like that... from my udnerstanding you want around .757 do you not? Please correct me , .9 cufoot sounds like a tiny *** box for that sub lol..

With being a sealed box, they say it takes more power to get it to go, now in that case would you still just use say a 500rms amp for a 500rms sub? Or in this case would you use say a 600-700rms amp to have more then ample supply of power?

What's my Q, if the box is 1.25 cu foot? I found something about year back that would show you your Q depending on size of the box, but I can't seem to find it now! If someone could help me out!
Thanks
