defro13 05-14-2006 09:11 AM

i have one and its a great cd player, very versatile crossover with time correction, killer display

GET_HEARD 05-14-2006 09:13 AM

how is the knob
and how is the area shot gps

MR2NR 05-14-2006 01:20 PM

I have it as well, it is kick arse. I have not played with the area shot function but it sure looks neat on demo mode.

Westec 05-15-2006 10:09 AM

The knob operates just like an ipod...people love it!

Eclipse CD7000 is awsome, full colour screen area shot nav-gps, plan your trip follow the satelite guidance, you can hook up two peripheral devices and it has a aux-input built in, and u can add a second as one peripheral device. the sound quality is amaizing like every other eclipse deck, in advanced mode it has an 11 band parametric EQ and upto 24db slope on its x-over, sadly only 5volt pre-outs unlike the CD5000's 8volt pre outs.

oh yeah and for some GAWD-AWWWWWFUL reason.... someone decided the cd7000 should havea detach face... but it's still smokn hot.

GET_HEARD 05-16-2006 04:15 PM

what is the retail in canada for these things
and how would u compare it to premier 960mp
or what other alpine compares to the 960mp

eversi0n 06-07-2006 09:15 AM

bump

I'm kinda interested in how well the gps area shot works on this deck, and how much the gps addon costs roughly.

Westec 06-07-2006 12:43 PM

its included, its free!

How it works, you log on to mapquest.com

- you want to travel from kamloops to calgary

- you load the diections on to the memory stick or a cd

- load it on into the deck

- and it directs you on how to get there

MR2NR 06-07-2006 12:51 PM

I sell both Pioneer and Eclipse. In my opinion the Eclipse will lay the smack down to the Pioneer for tonal response. CDN retail on the CD7000 is $899.99 and the GPS105 area shot unit (different than what James mentioned) retails for $279.99. Interested in a deal, drop me a PM for CCA member pricing.

Westec 06-07-2006 01:44 PM

you are mistaken Rob, the area shot is built in - FREE! With the antenna, you only get real time GPS...

MR2NR 06-07-2006 01:49 PM

That's what I was talking about actually James, no worries though, it's all good. This cd player is awesome.

eversi0n 06-07-2006 08:35 PM

thanks for the info think I'm going to hafta check it out, they look decent i currently have some low end sony deck in my car (gt400 i think) not very satisfied with it, only 3 bar eq, has an input though so that was about the best feature. see a big price very on the eclipse, retail here 999$ at a local shop and 500$ on ebay, madness. SO they only gps it offers is for me to donwload the map first and etc to a memory stick, is they're any adapter for like real time gps such as the pioneer avic gps

Brad-S.A. 06-07-2006 10:17 PM

Well with a item like that and a nice price tag I would definately get from MR2NR. I would hate to see you drop $700-800 by the time its landed at your door and it crap out and the ebay user or store close up. IMO its worth the extra $150 or so for the warranty, service and the headaches.

eversi0n 06-07-2006 11:01 PM

meh its 550$ shipped/taxes/fees from ebay, and really if i had the warrenty it really wouldn't make a difference i'm not patient enough for sending things away to get fixed I'm sure i'd just drop another 550$ and replace it. Never had anyluck with things under warrently, had a nice home theater system, reciever overheated or something, sent it away didn't see it again for nearly 2 months.

eversi0n 06-07-2006 11:27 PM

"sent mite out and it is sill nfg and if i send it out i'm not gooding to show then"

no idea... maybe "i sent mine out and its nfb" then i have no idea about the rest of it

MR2NR 06-07-2006 11:28 PM

You also need to add in the CDN - US $ conversion, the brokerage (raping charges), international shipping is not covered under the shipping charges so tack on some more bread as well as the GST the minute it hits the border. Warranty in Canada on Eclipse headunits is 3 years and free replacement in the first year if it is stolen. To me, that is worth it right there. Buy from a CDN dealer that needs and appreciates your business. Even the tech support for Eclipse in Canada has been here to answer your questions (Thanks Westec).

eversi0n 06-07-2006 11:30 PM

the 550$ is in cdn dollars, included brokerage fees, taxes.

MR2NR 06-07-2006 11:31 PM

Deal sounds too good to be true as that is below US dealer cost. One of the pitfalls of E-bay it seems.

eversi0n 06-07-2006 11:32 PM

the seller on ebay is hifisounds 550$cdn plus 30$ roughly.

MR2NR 06-07-2006 11:33 PM

Throw up the link to it as well please.

Me thinks your math is a little flawed there dude. I order things out of the US all the time, international shipping is a additional charge from pretty much any dealer. I am familiar with how the hidden charges add up in the end and trust me, they will be showing up for you should you purchase from them. It looks like a deal sure, at the expense of service / warranty. The service has most certainly been offered to you here on the site and a great deal on a new unit as well, it's up to you to decide where you would like to shop.

eversi0n 06-07-2006 11:47 PM

*sighs* guess i'll be in touch with you mr2nr within the week.
